The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is pretty much the mother of them all if you ask me!! It's Fall fashion for a great discounted price before they have even hit the stores! I have been drooling over so many pieces. Thankfully I cleaned out my closet and found new homes for things that weren't loved as much as they should have, and I was able to add a few great new Fall pieces to my wardrobe. Going about doing it this way is a very guilt free way of shopping for myself. You Mommas know what I'm talking about! Oh by the way, I still have tons of pieces that are gently work looking for new homes.

Beef Enchiladas

Good Saturday morning! I have been bouncing ideas off of some of you loyal readers, and found that some of you might want to see some recipe post. Please be patient with me, I'm learning as I go! This time around will be a little rough, but I think we will learn how to make a wonderful dish for all to enjoy!

The first thing I wanted to bring to y'all was the very first meal that my husband looked at me and asked who I was? I found this recipe on the Pioneer Woman, but with each time I make it it morphs into my very own.

Here's what ya need....

1 tablespoon canola oil
2 tablespoons flour
1 can of green sauce
2 cups chicken broth
salt
pepper
ground beef
1 can of green chilies
cheddar cheese

Add oil and flour together and whisk. Let bubble for one minute.

I like to add  seasoning before meat is browned.

Brown your meat and drain.

Add green sauce, broth, salt, and  pepper to oil and flour mixture. Whisk until mixed. Bring to a boil and reduce heat then let it simmer.

Add green chilies to meat. Sometimes instead of chilies I use rotel.

Fill your tortillas with the meat mixture.

Add green sauce to the bottom of the dish and roll.

Fill your dish to your heart's content.

I didn't show the last steps of covering the enchiladas in cheese. I bake them at 350 for 20 minutes. I'm putting these babies in the freezer for Sunday. We have some friends coming over for dinner. I hope you enjoy this delicious recipe.

If you have any question please don't hesitate to ask. This recipe is loved by  my family, friends, and the cowboys.

Happy Weekend!

XOXO,
Jordan

Creating your Dream Closet

Happy Sunday!!! As I type my good looking husband is driving us to drop the kids off at Lolli's for the week. That's right, I said KIDS! This little momma bird's nest is going to be empty. A part of me says party but mostly I feel like I might be a little lost. What will I do? I'll tell you what my first act of business will be, and that is decluttering and organizing my house starting with my closet!! I'm sure you know that I love my clothes, but I'm bad about wearing my clothes until they are tattered and stained beyond the help of Oxi Clean...sorry Billy Mayes. So it'll be time to fill the trash bags and part with my dearly beloved clothes.

Also there are pieces that just sit in my closet without being showed any love! Can you say clothing negligence?! I feel like if I don't wear something at least once a month that is in season and is in mint condition, it should be passed along to someone who will love it and wear it! I feel selfish and self centered even admitting that I buy clothes that I don't wear the heck out of!! My high school best friend told me years ago that when shopping a good motto to go by is "If a blouse is $50 would you wear it 50 times?" There is a lot of truth to this saying, and I seriously ask myself this question each time I pick an article up. It has saved me tons of money. Thank you Melissa!! 😘

Along with the decluttering I would love to give my closet a makeover. A wife's only place she can go crazy with the pink and glitter is her office space and her closet. I'm a stay at home with a small time fashion blog so I don't quite have an office space. So my closet it is!! I have gone a little nutty on Pinterest pinning dream closets. I'm trying to keep on a very slim budget...like a 00 that I have never even seen in my life! As I said from my last post I seem to love so many different styles and always hope to put them together to create my very own eclectic style. I love wall paper of large bright patterns, yet I love Katey McFarlan's style of chic white. So you can only image what my "This Week" board looks like!😁

I love bright pops of colors! Yellow has always been Cameron's most least favorite color since the day I met him. But there is just something inside me that says gimme gimme! I'm not sure if it's my love of sunshine, lemon pie, or maybe I'm just being a stinker to him. But I love it!!

This may be an office space, but I fell head over heels for these words on the wall. What girl doesn't need a little pick me up every now and then by a few kind words written on their closet walls in their own hand writing. Maybe you've enjoyed too many smores at the lake this summer or its that time of the glorious month, or those extra pounds of baby weight are teasing you. I know a little encouragement on my closet wall would make me feel better. Just a simple"Hey Beautiful!" or "Your butt looks good in those jeans!" or even "Wait till your man sees you!" It may seem silly to you, but I think it's not only fun but it just might brighten my day a little bit! 😉

Ok and here comes the gorgeous big bright patterns I was talking about! I'm thinking about looking at the fabric store for a fun fabric or even wrapping paper to cover a wall in. How cute who it be to offset my fun wall of compliments?! I think fabric or wrapping paper would be much more inexpensive option than actual wall paper. I may be scolding myself in the end for trying to pinch my pennies, but I'm going to try!!

What are your goals for this week? What are some of your tips for decluttering and organizing your closet?

XOXO,

Jordan

Making Your Own Style

If you have followed my blog for  very long I'm sure that you can see that I enjoy many different types of style. I love my roots of the western world first and foremost, then comes along a more chic style, a funky bright colored style, and the list goes on. Through my college years ( and probably currently ) I caught a lot of grief for this. Some would tell me I had no idea of who I wanted to be, but they were and still are wrong. I'm a girl and most of my readers are girls. And you know what being a girl is all about? It's about expressing your feelings and inspirations through your very own style. No where have I ever read that you must pick one avenue of the fashion world. Why not have your cake and eat it too??

My heart was stolen at a very young age to the cowboy way of life. It runs through my veins. I grew up horseback out in the pasture right alongside all the men driving cattle, flanking calves, and feeding cattle on snow days when everyone else was sledding.  I love that my father taught us how to work. The cowboy way has such a rich history and heritage.

As for that I am a huge fan of turquoise, fringe, denim, leather, and I'm sure you are all well aware of my cactus obsession. These are all things that you can always see in any of my outfits. Any given day if you saw me out and about I always have my turquoise on regardless of my current mood and style for that day. I have three of my most favorite cuff that my mother gave me that are the centerpiece of my arm party.

As far as my arm party goes there are dashes of my more chic side with members from Michael Kors, Chloe and Isabel, and Loren Hope. I feel like turquoise is completely timeless. It will always be in. Currently you can catch it on the Boho scene in almost every look you see in magazines or Instagram.

I love putting outfits together that are a little funky that you would not typically see on a mannequin in a department store or even in your favorite boutique. I love mixing patterns! Stripes and polka dots, leopard and hearts, and florals and fur. Sometimes they can be total opposites or maybe from different seasons. Example, floral and fur. You don't usually see furs paired with floral. I've never been known for how normal I am. Sometimes it doesn't quite look right, but you just have to keep toying with it until you feel like it looks like you. I feel like that  is the most important fashion tip a girl could every use or share. Just because your neighbor wears heels and dresses and you see a pair of totally chic heels that you want in your life and you are western girl, that doesn't mean you can't have them! It is so much fun to take bits and pieces of out of your comfort zone and ease them into your daily style little by little. Before you know it Monday you'll be pattern mixing, Tuesdays are total chic with a great dress and heels, Wednesdays are skinnies and and funky fun Emoji tee  , Thursdays are fringtastic with bright lips, and Fridays are for flowy soft white colors. You can so make whatever you want to wear your very own!

XOXO,
Jordan

Have Fun, Ok?

Hello dawlings! I am sure you have thought that I forgot about you for the millionth time. WRONG! You know how life gets. Run here, run there, just run everywhere!

Something has been weighing on my heart lately. As mothers we seem to lose our true selves. You know that girl who loved  pink lipstick, glitter, margaritas with the girls, maybe a little dancing with our man in the kitchen?  Do you remember her? If I'm honest there are days when I could dig a hole to China before I found my fun loving self. It is so hard to get caught up in the toddler fits, the laundry mountain, and what in the world will I make for dinner. Yes being Momma is the most incredible job in whole entire world, but there are times that you just have to be yourself. On my birthday I was super excited to join Katey McFarlan for dinner and some girl talk about her blog. It felt so good to be myself just hanging out with a super fun group of girls talking over drinks. I honestly cannot remember the last time I got to go out kid free and just let loose. I found myself talking like a college girl again. Talking fast and laughing uncontrollably.

I got this silly sticker book (yes I know what you're thinking, grow up Jordan....my answer is a BIG FAT NO!) from Ban.Do. As I looked through all in incredibly cute stickers I spotted Have fun, ok? sticker and it instantly became my Momma motto!

My goal for myself is to have a girls night out at least once every two months. I know to some of you that doesn't sound like much, but I live five miles down a dirt road and the most excitement I see is the weekly trip to the grocery store. I do love my life so very much and the people in it, don't get me wrong.

So next time you're about to pull your hair out because of flying food, a sink full of dishes, or a lovely poop explosion pick up your phone and call your gal pals. If you don't have any hit me up! Sometimes motherhood can be difficult and darn right challenging, but we are in this together. We are in the sisterhood of motherhood! We have to be there for each other to build each other up when we feel down and just have some good old fashion pre momma fun every now and then!

XOXO,
Jordan
